Instructions for Windows based PC


Steps to get pages extracted to create flashcards:

Step 1: Open the resource in any PDF program (e.g., Adobe Reader)

Step 2: Click 'Print'. In the print settings box (as shown below), change the printer name to 'Microsoft Print to PDF.'

Step 3: Choose the pages you want to print. E.g., 2-4

Step 4: Click 'Print', and save the file on your PC 


Step 5: You are now ready to print that new saved PDF, upload the document to an online printing service or save it to a thumb drive to take to a printing service.


Instructions for Mac

Step 1: Double-click to open the PDF. This will open the document in Preview. Look through the document and determine which page(s) you would like to print.

Step 2: Choose "File" > "Print" (or Command+P)

Step 3: Under “Pages,” using the Range option OR Selection option, enter the page number that you would like to print.

If printing a range of pages (e.g., all of the flashcards in a document to print/laminate them), enter the full range of pages (e.g., Range from 20 to 25).


Step 4: Click on the drop-down arrow next to “PDF” in the lower left corner of the print options dialog box.

Step 5: Choose "Save as PDF".

Step 6: Rename the file as desired and choose where you would like to save the document on your Mac. Then click “Save.”

Step 7: You are now ready to print that new saved PDF, upload the document to an online printing service or save it to a thumb drive to take to a printing service.


Instructions for iPad

Step 1: Open the file on your iPad and press the "Share" button.

Step 2: Select "Print"

Step 3: Select "Range"

Step 4: Select the page number range you want to print, then go back to "Print Options"


Step 5: On the "Print Options" screen, press the "Share" icon, then "Save to Files"

Step 6: Type a name for your file and then press "Save". You can then go to your "Files" app and open the single page document.

Step 7: You are now ready to print that new saved PDF, upload the document to an online printing service, or save it to a thumb drive to take to a printing service.
